Operational, managerial and fiscal Experience in Executive Healthcare
Delivering Value to Your Board.
Boards often face challenges that impact their effectiveness including a lack of diversity, insufficient skills, poor communication, inadequate engagement, conflicts of interest, unclear roles, poor succession planning, resistance to change, the list goes on and on.
Instead of accepting the status quo, Debbie believes that boards must continuously evaluate their performance and commit to improving the organization while adapting to the evolving industry landscape. This is especially true when it comes to healthcare and improving value for patients, communities, and purchasers.
Debbie actively contributes to improving the organization and the clients they serve by providing corporate governance and strategic oversight, ensuring that organizations stay ahead of the curve and thrive in today’s competitive healthcare landscape. Her experience spans delivery system reform, technology and finance transformation, and innovation, bringing a diverse perspective and a keen understanding of the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
As a dedicated professional with decades of experience, Debbie chooses to serve on boards where she can contribute the greatest value and outcomes.
What makes Debbie’s approach unique?
Debbie uses data-driven strategies and solutions to create value-based care strategies and new approaches to population health.
Her thirty-plus years of executive healthcare experience on a national and regional level, with a history of experience in large, multi-state, integrated healthcare delivery systems, coupled with access to industry’s involvement and insights into emerging opportunities has been valuable to health systems and purchasers seeking to grow, diversify and improve their value.
Debbie is a product innovator on patient financing and risk-based insurance models and has led mergers and acquisitions of physician practices and systems into larger health systems. As a diplomatic change agent, with a strong sense of communication style, she builds consensus toward value-based care.
She’s a demonstrated community builder and fundraiser.
As Chief Population Health Officer, her team designed, built, and operationalized Essentia’s 2.5 billion dollar transition from volume-based to value-based care. The results led to forty-two percent of the system’s fee-for-service revenue flowing through our value-based agreements after the transition. This work produced record earnings on shared savings and allowed Essentia to reinvest new capital into enhanced chronic care programs, digital solutions to care delivery, screening programs for patients’ social needs, and building outreach programs to minimize health disparities and build health equity.
